General Description of Instruction
Workshops are particularly suited for teachers that use Japanese and Singapore Math® textbooks. The content of these textbooks is mathematically focused, coherently organized, and rigorous. These textbooks are helpful to study, because they hold a key to the implementation of CCSS-M in classrooms.
Workshops consist of:
- Interactive presentations using PowerPoint, SmartBoard and Whiteboard
- Problem solving approach to instruction
- Hands on activities
- Discussion and Q&A
- The length of each session is ½ day (1 session is about 3 hours)
- A class size is limited to 15 people at the Chatham Learning center (30 people in other locations)
