Description: This workshop focuses on how bar models are used in Singapore Math and other curricula to represent and solve problems involving fractions and decimals. In addition, we will learn how to use bar models to solve multi-step word problems involving the four operations with whole numbers, fractions and decimals, the unitary method, and the relationship of model drawing to the Common Core State Standards.

Suggested Audience: teachers in grades 3-5, special education teachers, math specialists and coaches, and those who are interested in the model drawing method

This workshop requires minimum enrollment of seven participants. East West Math reserves the right to cancel the workshop in the event of insufficient enrollment. In such event prospective participants will be notified of cancellation as soon as possible. Refunds will be issued only for cancellations made a minimum of seven days prior to date of event.
