Designed for K-5 Classroom & Special Ed Teachers, Math Specialists and Administrators

This newly designed workshop will feature a variety of fun activities with Abacus to develop rich images of numbers and strong number sense. The activities with the Abacus help children see numbers concretely, represent numbers pictorially and develop abstract concept of numbers. Participants will learn how to use the 100-bead Abacus as a tool to develop mental images of numbers and calculation skills. Participants will also learn how to use the Abacus to help students develop understanding of multiplication facts through the counting method and repeated addition. All of the activities are based on the constructivist Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract pedagogy on which Singapore Math is founded.

This workshop requires minimum enrollment of seven participants. East West Math reserves the right to cancel the workshop in the event of insufficient enrollment. In such event prospective participants will be notified of cancellation as soon as possible. Refunds will be issued only for cancellations made a minimum of seven days prior to date of event.
